Mota-Engil wins new contracts in Mexico worth over €1 billion
The new contracts includes the design and construction of the second section (between Apaseo el Grande and Irapuato) of the Querétaro-Irapuato rail link, with a total length of 70.7 kilometres.
Mota-Engil, through its subsidiary Mota-Engil México, has signed new contracts in Mexico worth more than €1 billion, the largest of which is for railway construction worth €820 million, the company said.
In a note sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), Mota-Engil explains that the new contract signed with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport includes the design and construction of the second section (between Apaseo el Grande and Irapuato) of the Querétaro-Irapuato rail link, with a total length of 70.7 kilometres.
In August, the company had already been awarded the contract for the first section of this work, which is a strategic project within Mexico’s National Railway Plan.
In addition, also in Mexico, the company recently won several contracts totalling around €200 million associated with the construction of railway infrastructure.
With these contracts, Mota-Engil is resuming growth of its order book in Mexico, which already stands at around €3.7 billion.
