German company will hire over 350 people and invest €100 million this year. Ovar and Aveiro units are being expanded.

Bosch Group sales in Portugal increased 5% to €1.7 billion euros in 2021. The products coming out of the German group’s units on Portuguese soil were exported to more than 50 countries and accounted for more than 97% of sales.

In 2022, the company plans to hire more than 350 people in Portugal and invest around €100 million, according to the announcement made at a press conference on Tuesday.

Also planned is the expansion of the Ovar units – to house research and development teams – and Aveiro – with a new building for logistics and common areas for workers.

The German group is also planning the expansion of the Braga facilities, with two new buildings to increase production, technology and research and development (R&D) capacity.

“Bosch has shown an excellent performance in Portugal in recent years. The group believes in Portugal and in the talent of the Portuguese, which brings us security and confidence for the future, even in a difficult conjuncture like the current one. We will continue to hire specialized profiles and expand our production areas and offices, continuing to make R&D one of the focal points of our activities”, highlights the German group’s president for Iberia, Javier González Pareja.

In 2022, Bosch expects to increase sales compared to 2021.
