Number of Covid-19 cases increases 0.9%. Death toll at 1,356

The number of registered cases of coronavirus increased by 0.9% to 31,292.

The number of people infected with coronavirus is currently at 31,292, having increased 0.9% compared to this Tuesday. In the last 24 hours, 14 people have died from the disease, according to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Since the outbreak in Portugal on March 2, 31,292 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the country. As far as the number of deaths is concerned, there have been 1,356 deaths, 14 more fatalities in the last 24 hours. “The overall lethality rate is 4.3%. The rate of lethality over 70 is 16.9%,” said António Lacerda Sales, Secretary of State for Health, in a press conference on Wednesday.

A total of 18,349 patients have recovered from the disease, 253 more people since last midnight, says the DGS.
